Moore Dixon Confirms Isle of Man Art Society Easter Exhibition A Great Success

DOUGLAS, Isle of Man – This year’s Isle of Man Art Society Easter Exhibition enjoyed another resounding success according to its lead sponsor, Moore Dixon Isle of Man. It is the third successive year that Moore Dixon has supported the event.

“We’re extremely proud to support the Art Society through the year and in particular this event which reflects the importance of art to the Island and the high calibre of our local artists,” said Moore Dixon partner, Andrew Dixon.

The 2018 exhibition, held at the Onchan Village Walk Precinct, was officially opened by The Honourable Steve Rodan, President of Tynwald, at a private invitation-only preview evening on Tuesday, 27 March. The exhibition was then open daily to the public through to Monday, 2 April.

“The quality of art displayed is always exceptional and without this exhibition, local artists wouldn’t get the chance to display their talent and skills to the Island ,” said Andrew Dixon, “The turnout over the six days was tremendous - I had the chance to view the art several times and, on every visit, I was impressed by the number of people attending.”

This year 91 artists exhibited more than 364 pieces, all of which had never been displayed before.

“We can’t thank Moore Dixon enough for the hard work and dedication their team again put into supporting and then promoting this year’s Easter Exhibition.  The success is evident in the record number of visitors,” said David Sayle, IOM Art Society Chairman.

Moore Dixon and The Art Society also extend their congratulations to the lucky raffle winner Diana Kouvel, pictured with David Sayle, who took home Des Clague’s beautiful painting of the Tower of Refuge.

Moore Dixon and the Art Society would also like to thank the support of all of the sponsors, who were: Bill Mummery, Hunter Tax Consultants Ltd.
