1) Compliance Administrator

1.0 Background 

The Compliance Administrator will be based in the Compliance Department of Moore Stephens Chartered Accountants, which is part of Moore Stephens Isle of Man (MSIOM). 
MSIOM has a staff complement of 38 and is a member of the Moore Stephens Global Network, a global consulting group consisting of over 600 offices in over 110 countries.
The Compliance department oversees the firm’s compliance with regulatory requirements, provides continual risk assessment, development of comprehensive policies and procedures, compliance training, protocols, and internal investigations for all areas of the firm.  Compliance Services are also provided to external clients.
2.0 Reporting and principal responsibility
Reporting to the Compliance Officer, the principal responsibility of the Compliance Administrator is to assist with the day to day client administration, take on and monitoring, across varied business lines; and to ensure that compliance services provided to all clients are maintained to the highest standards, and that all legislative and regulatory requirements continue to be adhered to.
3.0 Salary and working hours
Salary is commensurate with experience, and the hours are full-time, 9.00am to 5.15pm Monday to Friday.  Part-time hours may also be considered.
4.0 Key Tasks
  • Assist in the preparation of the set-up of new clients, ensuring acceptable client due diligence (CDD) has been provided;
  • Prepare annual returns for the firm’s in-house companies and other company secretarial submissions;
  • Assist with project work assigned to the Compliance department and lead own projects as required;
  • Review marketing materials prior to public release;
  • Assist with the preparation of regulatory submissions;
  • Be willing to undertake additional training and professional qualifications if necessary;
  • Help co-ordinate board meetings, including agenda and initial board pack preparation;
  • Monitor industry developments within the offshore sector;
  • Understand the requirements of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and maintain a good working knowledge;
  • Have an awareness of how departmental procedures, documents and record keeping have a positive or negative affect on the ISO 9001 Quality Management System; and
  • It is a mandatory requirement to operate on a daily basis within the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
Other duties
  • Be aware of developments within the offshore industry;
  • Become familiar with the services provided by the local firm and Moore Stephens Global;
  • Understand proposed legislation and the impact upon the firm and clients; and
  • Understand the firms’ policies and procedures and adhere to them in daily working practice.
Key Skills
  • Have at least one to two years’ experience within an office environment;
  • Possess basic understanding of compliance and its function;
  • The ability to produce accurate work in a fast paced environment;
  • Project management;
  • Presentation skills;  and
  • Be PC literate, particularly with Outlook, Viewpoint, Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
